Wanted: 2 x freelance artist facilitators to deliver outside interactive and participative workshops at Festival in the Park – Saturday 9th July 2016

1.Artist facilitator – Paper Folding/Origami

We need you to run an origami/folded (A4 paper size) paper plane competition in Norma Hutchinson Park park on the 9th July from 12md – 4pm.

1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be given in two categories:

– Plane that flies the furthest

– Best decorated plane

Requirements

You will have experience of working with origami and folding paper and paper art.

You will have experience of working with children and young people in a workshop and drop in situation.

You will be expected to use a variety of plane folding methods using A4 sized paper

You will have a DBS that is no more than 2 years old.

You will be able to plan the logistics of the competition and carry out all necessary preparations in liaison with the Managing Director.

You will be expected to spend up to 3 hours in preparation; 4 hours delivery and 1 hour clear up and review.

You will take photos for recording purposes and ensure that evaluations forms are filled in to assess the workshop.

You will be paid £20 per hour and a maximum of £160 excluding materials for the whole contract.

You will work freelance and be responsible for your own National insurance and income tax assessment and payments.

From Chapeltown Arts Festival Ltd you will expect:

  • Support and supervision throughout the contract.
  • A freelance artist agreement to be signed
  • Provision of materials to carry out the workshop.
  • Induction to Chapeltown Arts Festival Ltd

 

2. Artist facilitator – 3D/2D Art from recycled material and scraps

We need you to run an outside art workshop using scrap and recycled materials working with children and young people at the Festival in the Park on the 9th July 2016 between 12pm and 4pm. This is to encourage participation and promote creativity. Makers can take their work home with them.

Requirements

You will have experience of working with 3D and 2D art made with recycled materials and scrap.

You will have experience of working with children and young people in a workshop and drop in situation.

You will have a DBS that is no more than 2 years old.

You will be able to plan the logistics of the workshop and carry out all necessary preparations in liaison with the Managing Director.
