Community Art Workshops – Chapeltown Arts Festival 2016

Healthy Diet for Healthy Art

Cost: Free, but donations welcome, booking essential.

A baking workshop focussing on healthy eating run by Dr Kathleen Wright from University of Leeds.

Flower Arranging at St Martins Church

Address: St Martins Church, St Martins View, Leeds LS7 3LB

Date & times: Tuesday 5th July 2pm – 4pm

Cost: £4, booking essential.

Gain the skills to make an all round floral arrangement with a candle in the middle which can be used as a centerpiece.

SAA UK Taster Workshop in Dhol/Gidha Boliyan

Address: Bracken Edge Primary School, Newton Rd, Leeds LS7 4HE

Date & Time: Tuesday 5th July, 6.30pm – 7.15pm with performance at 7.15pm-7.45pm.

Cost: Free but booking essential.

Learn about the history of the Punjabi folk music and perform as a group. Suitable for beginners. All ages welcome.

Singing & Song writing with Christella Litras

Address: Union105, Chapeltown Rd, LS7 3HY

Date & Time: Tuesday 5th July, 6pm-8.30pm

Cost: £10, booking essential

Founder member of the Caution Collective vocal group, Christella Litras, will lead this singing / song-writing workshop where you will learn about different vocal techniques, voice projection and choral singing and will explore how to combine poetry and music.

On Sanity | Cartoon & Zine Making

Address: Union105, Chapeltown Rd, LS7 3HY

Date & Time: Wednesday 6th July, 6.30pm – 8.30pm

Cost: Free but booking essential.

Participants will make a simple visual narrative about life and experience with mental health and contribute to a collective zine. This workshop is for those who have affected by mental health issues.

105 Women Making Day

Date & Time: Thursday 7th July, 12pm-5pm

Cost: Free – Drop in, no need to book.

A day of making, sewing, painting, drawing, talking and exploring with the 105 Women collective.

Botanical Dye and Eco Painting on Textiles workshop with Carol Sorhaindo

Date & Time: 8th July 1pm – 3.30pm

Cost: £10 per person, booking essential

A day of dying and painting fabrics using plants that you might find in your garden!

Felting Workshop

Singing & Song writing with Steve Canoville

Learn the basics of songwriting with Steve Canoville and have a chance of performing at our monthly Instrumental Gigs.
